We setup servers in 2 different racks out of which one server is the master server and other is slave server. Once you setup a mirrored dedicated server in case, the master server fails then the slave server can immediately take its place without any downtime. We use FAM and RSYNC modules for server mirroring.

What is Failover Process ?
In failover process if the master server goes down then slave server immediately get activated for accepting users or application requests. Failover help to avoid any downtime so your server application runs smoothly.

What is restoration process ?
Restoration process involves copying the up-to-date data from the slave server back to the original location which is the master server. It requires selection of source target and appropriate replication set. Restoration process take place after the Failover to move all recent updated data to master server when its ready to use.
